What to expect when planning your wedding? Planning a wedding is not easy and with the amount of information on the internet, it can become extremely overwhelming. So let’s talk about what to expect when planning a wedding. First things first make sure you take time out to enjoy your engagement. Let’s jump into the top 3 things you can expect when planning your wedding.
Taking time to Enjoy your engagement will make your wedding planning exciting!
Next steps in the planning process is your Budget planning, not talking about your budget in the first stages of planning could make or break your planning. Sit down and talk about what you can afford to spend on your wedding, what you would like to spend. Lastly, what is your bottom line budget, this will help you when making all of the decisions for your wedding day. We talk more about budget planning in our blog Getting down to business, The Budget.
Budgets can make or break the joy of planning your wedding
Choosing your date is another big decision when planning your wedding. You want to take everything in consideration when picking your wedding day, think about the season, are you getting married during the day or evening, Do you want to have a local wedding or is this a destination wedding. If you plan to have a destination wedding, think about people that will be traveling to your wedding and give them time to make plans. Keep in mind some venues book quicker than others during high peak wedding season.
Venues can be a blank canvas for your wedding planner to make your dreams come true
Once you have a date picked out this is when I would say find a wedding planner but this is a two-part process. You may choose to not book a wedding planner but I definitely suggest you get a month of coordinator and at the same time it is time for you to start looking for a venue.
As we stated before wedding venues book quickly during wedding season, so first things first write down all the things you are looking for in a venue. What are the looks and feel would you like your venue to have. What are your must-haves in a venue, for example, are you looking for a venue that is all inclusive? Do you want a venue that looks out over the water and provides tables & chairs?
Take a moment and make a list so that you have these questions to ask the venues you are making appointments to visit. Wedding planners will have this on hand, so if you plan to book a wedding planner I would really reach out at this time. Lastly, I want you to remember that this is your special day, this is the day when two become one the day of love. So in planning your wedding remember to plan for a lifetime of moments not just for your wedding day.
